The vitality of judaism is its wisdom

Out-of-the-box learning for a century seeking clarifications

Wisdom is the Capacity
To Know What to Do with What we Know

Judaism is what Jews learn through their experiences .

Thousands of years of the Jewish people’s experiences aren’t wasted or forgotten. Jews have a mechanism to make good use of them. It is learning from them.

Their learning has never been for curiosity’s sake. It has always been, and it is applied today to manage and steer the lives of human beings, as individuals, and as a people.

This whole process of the experiences of the Jewish people, learning from them, and applying the learned lessons to live their lives, is what it is called “Judaism.”

The study program of the Academy is divided into three areas:

          • The Experiences of the Jewish people
          • The Jews’ Learned Lessons
          • The Application of the Learned Lessons

Our Courses

Students complete a course by going through all the lessons in that course, mostly at their own path, but not in a period exceeding 6 months.

The courses are organized in three areas. Each area consists of three courses. Each course consists of 6 to 8 lessons.

The order on which each course is taken is entire to the student.

Israel Under Islamic Occupation

In 634-637, Muslim armies commanded by the Caliph Umar conquered the entirety of the Levant. By August 636 most of the land of Israel was in Moslem hands.

Jews held the inferior status of dhimmi, which, despite giving them protection to worship according to their own faith, subjected them to many vexatious and humiliating restrictions in their daily lives.

The Third Commonwealth

The modern restoration to the land of Israel is more impressive, in significant respects, than was the Second Commonwealth when the Persians allowed those exiled by the defunct Babylonian Empire to return and recover some autonomy.

Welcome Back

Jews have lived in the Iberian Peninsula since Roman times. Their story has been very much the story of the Spanish people. Yet after centuries of uneasy cohabitation, Jews were expelled in the 15 th century. Yet, recently the Spanish government somehow intended to redress a “historical mistake

A Different Kind of Hostility

Jews have been the object of a kind of hostility different from that confronted by other groups. This disease of humanity has escaped clear understanding making an alarming comeback in the 21st century. This course is about the state of knowledge and what it is being done about it.

Shaping the future

“Other species can communicate with information about the present-about the moods they are in at the moment of communicating- but they cannot consider the future.”

MORRIS, DESMOND: Manwatching: A Field Guide to Human Behavior, p. 149

Such a Thing is not Done in Israel

We are Better than Them

Sectarianism has been a constant feature of Jewish religion responsible for different developments.

Modern Jewish sectarianism, little understood,  plays a significant role in Judaism’s present dynamics and most importantly, its future.

"I am Jewish but With an Explanation"

The Jews have been defined by scholars in many different ways- as a nation, a race, a religion, an ethnicity-and polling suggests that Jews themselves differ in how they would define themselves, some emphasizing their religious observance, others indicating their parentage, still other defining Jewishness as a set of cultural characteristics.

The God of Israel

Throughout the history of the religion of the Jewish people, a number of diverse and sometimes opposing ideas about God have emerged, not all of which are compatible.

How do we explain ourselves in history

Our purpose as a people will be for naught

if we fail to be “a light unto the nations.”
